Medline manufactures quality products that are used in hospitals, convalescent homes, and other medical facilities. Purchased for maternity use when water breaks. Used subsequently for leaking with nursing. Great to lay a nekkid infant on to heal from a diaper rash. They are also handy for potty training. Just bought ONE four pack and they are now in use by child number three. Handy. Excellent purchase.I also helped an incontinent elderly person who used these. They met her needs without making her hot and sweaty like disposables with plastic backing did.Lay with the WHITE SIDE UP for absorbency. As with towels and diapers, fabric softener will degrade absorption ability; do NOT use fabric softener. Wash prior to use. This is my second purchase of these bed pads, and they are used for my bed-bound family member who can’t control her bodily elimination. As a nurse, I can say that these are similar in quality to what I’ve used in hospital. I always wash them on warm or hot, and pre-treat any soiling with Oxyclean or Shout spray to avoid staining. I dry them on low heat setting, and if weather is appropriate, I will sometimes line dry outside. Pads have held up well without excessive fraying or fading. Occasionally, pads of this type can bunch in washer, and water can pool in a pads corner. It will be noticeable when picked up out of machine bc it will be heavy and dripping water. For this reason, I wash in small quantities, but any pad like this can have that corner pooling.I want to point out that these pads are meant to provide some level of protection between the patient and soiling the fitted sheet or mattress. These pads ARE NOT WATERPROOF, but they will slow small amounts of leaking for short periods of time. For maximum effect, and preventing mattress seepage, I use pads this way:Waterproof mattress cover, followed by fitted sheet, covered with a plastic-backed disposable bed pad/linen saver, followed with THIS fabric bed pad on top, with patient wearing a diaper. (I never skip the fabric pad layer and just have plastic-backed disposable pad against patient’s skin bc I’ve actually seen the plastic cause blistered skin, and it retains heat.) My family member is turned and diaper checked every 2 hours, or less, and less than 4-5 times in over a year, have I had a stain/leak go thru this fabric pad onto the next layer. Hope this detailed review can help others make their best choice. My father has incontinence issues and can sometimes wet the bed during the night when it's harder for him to make it to the restroom. This has saved a lot of headaches when it comes to laundry. Instead of having to strip the entire bed and wash all the sheets and blankets, we can just wash these pads. We've been using the same pack on rotation for a few years now and they've held up quite well! I would recommend these for anyone dealing with incontinence problems.Love these, I'm a nurse, and they're similar to the waterproof pads we use under patients that are also strong enough to boost people. I have used them as a potty training aide for 3 dogs now. I overlap them and spread them out on the floor where I place the dogs playpen. Of course the goal is to not have an accident, but if I have a moment of inattention, these save me from damaging my home by having urine soaking into my carpet/pad or wood, etc. These also saved my new truck's upholstery when I found out the hard way that one of my puppies was motion sick, and soaked up our GSD puppie's repeated vomiting while we scrambled to get back home. Ewww.These have taken years of washing on a superheated sanitary cycle with bleach, they come out like new every time. I don't know how I lived without these before. These are one of my best buys ever! I use them to cover an area where the cats sometimes miss the litter box. They absorb, don't smell, and just toss them in the wash to clean. This has saved me much money over buying the throw-away pads. Absolutely love them! Definitely worth the investment!I care for my elderly mother and she has an incontinance problem, especially at night. We were using disposable pads, but that gets expensive. We switched to these, and are very happy with them. They absorb as much as the disposables, but can be washed and used again and again. They hold up well to repeated washings. Would recommend for anyone wanting to switch from expensive disposable pads.I do homecare and bought these for my client. They are a little bigger than ones that the family got from the hospital and cover the twin sized bed better. They came clean in the washing machine and didn't hold water so they dried in the same amount of time as the rest of his bedding. Absorbency is the same as the chucks that they already had. Will definitely be buying again. Regular customerOne of our elderly cats started missing the litter box on a regular basis, making clean up time consuming and unpleasant. These are perfect. Simply put under the box as a carpet with a step off area. When soiled, simply shake excess dry litter (liquid is securely trapped) and toss in the washer (I put detergent and vinegar). Dry on medium and you are set to use again. Having several on hand is perfect to have a fresh clean one on hand when an accident happens.GREAT ALTERNATIVE to disposable pads that are made of plastic and cannot be recycled.I've tried many things for bed time accidents and nothing has ever kept my kids' mattresses safe. I bought new mattresses for the kids when we moved and really needed to find something that works! This comes with 4 so enough to have back ups. 1 piece is big enough for 1 child even if they move. Nothing has seeped through so far! Washing them is easy peasy. For those of us that need to protect our beds this is a great product. They are very absorbent, well made and the price is fantastic. I bought 1 pad the same 26 years ago from a medical supplier and it was $30 so this is a fantastic deal. If I have to stay overnight some where else I can just put it on the bed and not worry. It would also be good for parents with small children at home or away.We use these pads for my fathers split queen adjustable bed to protect the mattress. There are less expensive options, but this pads material is 100% cotton which helps with longevity from washing, as well as quality of material touching his skin. These are the beds pads we’ve found! These are AMAZING! Great for night time potty training accidents and saved me when the kids got a tummy bug. You can't beat the price. I spent the same amount on 1 sheet cover at babies r us as I did for this pack of 4.I bleach them and put them through the dryer and they have held up great!
